On Saturday April 2, downtown Kansas City, Missouri will go country with a free concert by country singer Kevin Fowler on the KC Live Stage in Downtown Kansas City's Power & Light District.

The concert coincides with the annual Professional Bull Riding Association (PBR) events which will be taking place across the street from Kansas City Live! At the Spring Center. Kevin Fowler is known for chart-topping singles over the past decade, including "Ain't Drinkin' Anymore" (2004) and "Best Mistake I Ever Made" (2008). Fowler's single "Pound Sign" became his first Top 40 country hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts last year. Fowler is also known for writing Sammy Kershaw's 2003 single "Beer, Bait & Ammo", and Mark Chesnutt's 2004 single "The Lord Loves the Drinkin' Man." He also wrote Montgomery Gentry's 2009 single "Long Line of Losers".

The Professional Bull Riders tour hosted at the Hampton Coliseum, called the Hampton Invitational is part of the PBR Touring Pro Series. Money earned by the bull riders in Hampton will be counted toward qualifier standings which decide which pro bull riding cowboys get to compete in the 2011 bull riding finals at Las Vegas. The bull riding competition at the Hamptons will be held on the 11th and 12th of March from 7:30 pm onwards. The tickets cost about $25-$35.
Professional Bull Riders Inc. had its inception in 1992. This and more than a thousand bull riders from the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Canada as well as Mexico participate in this competition. The group's website claims that the bull riding exhibitions draw up to 1.5 million spectators every year.

Brazilian Cowboy Wins Professional Bull Riding Competition

Guilherme Marchi, a Brazilian cowboy who now lives near Dallas, has won the Professional Bull Riding Built Ford Tough Series in the St Louis leg of the tour last weekend, earning a prize of $40, 525. Marchi had won the PBR's world title once before in 2008, and this year his scores of 84, 84, 75, 90, 25, 88, and 90.5 were enough to clinch the title. He now ranks third in the world standings, with 3,632 points.

That is 455.75 behind Valdiron de Oliveira who leads with 4, 087,75. In other bull riding news, Cody Atwood is competing on the Championship Bull Riding tour, a nations circuit that features pro riders. Atwood, 25, is making headway and is currently in second place in the CBR's 2011 title race behind Stevo Keighley. This weekend Atwood will compete in a bull riding show that's famous for featuring tougher bulls, the 19th Tuff Hedeman Championship challenge.
